Wealden collects on every bank holiday except Christmas, though the Crowborough tip shuts. Garden waste is £66 a bin, bulky waste £67, missed bins by 5pm next day.

Parking in Crowborough: free, but three hours and a £70 fine
Every council car park in Crowborough is free, including 130 long-stay bays at Croft Road. The traps: no return within three hours, and a £70 excess charge.
Wealden has four towns of roughly the same size and no centre at all. Crowborough and Uckfield are in the north, up in the High Weald with Forest Row, Buxted, Mayfield, Wadhurst and Hartfield around them and Ashdown Forest on the doorstep. Hailsham and Polegate are in the south, closer to Eastbourne, and Heathfield sits between. The council’s own offices are at Hailsham. Wealden was due to disappear into a new East Sussex Council in April 2028, but the government paused the programme on 7 September 2026 and has not said when it will decide.
